Commissions

A commission is not an order.

It is a conversation between what you want to hold onto and what I see when I look at your subject.
Every commissioned piece begins with that conversation and ends with something that could not have existed any other way.

I take a limited number of commissions each year to ensure every piece receives the time and attention it deserves.

Every commission begins with a conversation.
Tell me what you want to hold onto - and I will find a way to paint it.

A woman and a boy opening a wrapped painting of a man and a dog together, in a sunlit cozy living room with large windows and plants outside.

“You were able to capture the most human side of my father. He always had a saying: "A man only needs a radio and a dog." Lila, his Beagle, who also passed away months after his death, was included in the painting. The oil painting is beautifully done. Every time we pass through the living room, coming in or out of the house, we can feel and remember my father.”

“I'm so happy! Alex captured the affection, the love, and the very soul of my Floresmila. It turned out beautifully, I love it. It's her, her little face, her feelings. Alex's work on this commission was spectacular. I'm so happy, and from doggy heaven, I know my Floresmila is too.”
